I made my debut. Is that what you call it when you get on a stage at a dive bar and tell them about your terrible taste in men? It was the first time that happened. So it is my debut, I guess.
My niece told me that my debut was hilarious. I’m not sure if she thinks my jokes are actually funny or if it’s hilarious that I got on stage and made a mockery of myself in public. Whichever it is, I truly am hoping to be that aunt that you might only see a few times a year, but she always has words of advice or stories that are equally funny and embarrassing for everyone involved.
All I do is go to the gym and drink coffee. Which seems like a strange combination since I have cardiac problems. However, I lack concern for my personal safety and so I just do it regardless. When I was five years old, my father and I were in Waffle House and I ordered coffee. The waitress was aghast and looked at my dad to ask, “Can she really have coffee?” My dad goes, “If that is what she wants, yes.”

That is probably where my coffee addiction and general belief that I can achieve anything started. Dad casually let his five year old order coffee. Now, I have multiple university degrees even though I didn’t graduate high school (GED all day, baby) and I generally lack awareness of boundaries. Which also explains why I am in a wheelchair with multiple rare diseases and am at the gym every week.
