True/False Film Fest: It Must Be Spring In Columbia

When spring is just beginning to warm the midwest soul, the True/False film festival comes to Columbia, Missouri. Downtown Columbia is the perfect canvas for the art of documentary films to be on display. I am not a documentarian, but I studied journalism with many of them and I heartily respect how films bring awareness and keep record of things, past and present. So, I spent the first weekend of March immersed in the media of film.

Downtown Columbia has a niche, hipster vibe especially in the busy hustle and bustle of True/False. My alma mater of the University of Missouri is just down the street from all the films and I like to show it off whenever I have an audience. Any new friends that come to Columbia for the first time are shown it and they are expected to like it. But seriously, True/False offers opportunities to be one of the first to watch some incredible films.

My outfit fit the bill perfectly. I call it: chic girl that is in the midwest for a nondescript reason that she can’t really understand, but you and I can enjoy it for now.

Pearl beret: bought from Dilliard’s, but one similar can be found HERE

Cropped, red sweater: Saks Fifth Avenue (thrifted)

Black, ribbed mock neck: Loft

Ribbed Knit Skirt: Old Navy

Cup: HydroJug Traveler

Cafe Berlin offers the best brunch in town and I have studied this very closely. You can call me an expert in this area, their cappuccino is one of the best.
